Vintage Beach Babes.
Grace Kelly, MM, Ginger Rogers, Ava Gardner.
The city by the bay is chilly again. Is it summer yet? And where in the blue hell do I get a fringed umbrella?

Bon Weekend!
We had a short day at work heading into the long weekend, so I got to spend the sunny and crisp afternoon running errands and walking about. I took my Valentine’s bouquet home (I’m still in awe) and picked up a package (pink wellies!) while making my way through busy North Beach. I must admit I was spoiled rotten on Tuesday: 100 flickering candles, home cooked dinner, scattered rose petals, and a tiny Ginger Rogers…suffice it to say that the phrase “head over heels” is more than accurate. Tomorrow the boy and I are going to the Ferry Building farmer’s market and taking our spoils off on an adventure. If I can get the Polaroid land camera we bought on the street up and running, you’ll see what we find soon.
I am feeling like a very lucky girl today and I hope your weekend is amazing!

Happy New Year!
Pretty little messes.
I’m cleaning up tinsel and stray shoes, playing with one of my most coveted gifts, and feeling generally lovely. I do love bright and quiet afternoons.
Swing Time (1936)
More Fred and Ginger spam. I just don’t which one I’m more in love with (but the blonde is probably a safe bet). I’m watching this movie and making things with colored paper between sighs.
Fred Astaire & Ginger Rogers–Cheek to Cheek (from Top Hat)
“Rogers was outstanding among Astaire’s partners not because she was superior to others as a dancer but because, as a skilled, intuitive actress, she was cagey enough to realize that acting did not stop when dancing began…the reason so many women have fantasized about dancing with Fred Astaire is that Ginger Rogers conveyed the impression that dancing with him is the most thrilling experience imaginable”.
Is it possible to incredibly, unbearably, heart-brokenly miss an era in which you did not live? From about 2:20 on I just…melt.
