SF Fashion Week/The Reinvention: Video Highlights from My Flip
Yesterday Sade and I were lucky enough to attend the second day of runway for SF Fashion Week. After standing around nibbling cheese and chatting with a few folks at the bar, one of the staff members noticed our cameras and asked if we were bloggers. And since it just so happens that we do blog, we suddenly had VIP seats on the catwalk, a free goodie bag, and a place to drink our vitamin water unperturbed. We were also lucky in that one of our seatmates was the fabulous girl from hk, ldn & sf, a total sweetheart who scored amazing shots of the looks that went down the runway, and writes a generally lovely blog. The evening started with interpretive dance and glittering pirate patches, as models swathed in black showcased Alexandria von Bromssen’s work. Alas, I didn’t get it on video. Pink, girly confections from Alyssa Nicole were adorable. Loved the ruffles and the bows! Kathryn McCarron showed easy, understated chic I would not mind turning up in my closet (two-piece black leotard, anybody?). But my personal favorite was Chan.nel Karama, whose collection pushed the envelope a little further for the night with pieces dripping in personality and sass. It was all around fun and inspiring.
