Last Year’s NYE is probably still my favorite video. But I hope to give it a run for its money with 2010.

Reason #139 I need to be working for the Haus:
I’m gluing one sequin at a time to a gold half-mask and grinning like an idiot. Ugh.

Camp Trip 2009
I guess it’s fitting that I’ve finally gotten to edit the footage from the past year at the end of it…it’s kind of a nice review. It’s been making me smile and remember my gratitude for how blessed I am. But it’s also making me miss summer days.
Breakfast with my Sister
Jaz: Malia Obama reminds me of you. Not like how she looks. But like when you were wearing tech vests? Like I feel like America is watching her go through YOUR awkward stages.
Kayla: Mmm...thanks. That's awesome.
Jaz: And I'm like Sasha. You know, cute and adorable?
Kayla: Really? Because I feel like you had Kelly Osbourne's awkward stage.
Jaz: hahaha

Sex & the City 2 Teaser Trailer
There’s pretty much nothing they can do plot-wise in this movie that I will be happy with, seeing as I already got my ending when the series was done. The last movie was a sparkly, fun, fan-based romp and though it wasn’t as pithy as the show, it was good fun to have the girls back. I don’t really know that I want a sequel.
THAT BEING SAID, I...

Warhol & Gaga
CNN: You've cited Andy Warhol as a major influence. He's someone who did have a lot of longevity in his work–of course–it still resonates today. But why is he in particular an influential person to you?
Gaga: He made commercial art that was taken seriously as fine art. And I'm starting to notice a change in the tides as well. When I first came out it was, "Who is this crazy girl?" and then it's, "Who's this crazy girl with all the hit records?" And now I find that I'm being probed a bit more...it's not just about trying to put me in a category anymore. People are starting to realize that I don't belong in a category and they're alright with that. I'm sort of a pop musical misfit.
CNN: What do you mean by that, a misfit?
Gaga: I always say that if all the pop singers were at a high school party together, that I would be at the "not cool kids" table.
CNN: Do you feel that you're more of a performance artist than a pop star?
Gaga: I am a performance artist, yes.

Tonight.
2 for 1 drinks too many. A drag rendition of ‘Video Phone’. Dancing on a stage with Zachary. Bustier. Reindeer in white briefs. Nessa falling down. The “lady” in the blonde wig giving advice about shopping at Claire’s. Disco balls. Annoyed taxi drivers. Glitter. Pizza grease on my iphone. Laughter. Mika teaching me how to breathe.

Tomorrow.
I want to be stronger. I want to work harder. I want to be more focused.
I don’t know if I’m in the right place or pushing any of the right buttons. All I’m sure of is where I want to be. And I guess that even though I’m terrified of everything that may lie in between, having a direction to steer is as good a place to start as any.

The Risk
All the people I admire (artists, designers, musicians, my mother) take risks in their lives and in their work. Creating anything truly revolutionary–whether it’s a painting or a life–requires doing something a little crazy. The world is so quick to tell us to play it safe. There are stories upon stories of people who took a jump and landed on their face. Experience reinforces the danger....

The Uncanny Valley
The uncanny valley hypothesis holds that when robots and other facsimiles of humans look and act almost like actual humans, it causes a response of revulsion among human observers. The “valley” in question is a dip in a proposed graph of the positivity of human reaction as a function of a robot’s lifelikeness. (wikipedia)
